Steemit is NOT Steem

This is a stream of consciousness brainstorm on steem as I contemplate a post by @stevescoins, just a few days after my own changing of delegations that I've still been continuing to contemplate.

Steem is an ecosystem of its own, with many hats a user could wear. Starting the day logging in as a influencer with breakfast selfies,... Some will take it a step further and even switch hats throughout the day... maybe putting on the investment planner hat after lunch and moving coins around that aren't doing too well into ones that have more potential, or the newspaper publisher (and editor) hat in the evening after dinner while mentally deliberating societies issues by curating. Some people only wear a hat.. and never takes it off. and that's ok too....

but a good rule of thumb towards progress and success in our ideals and goals

Build up, don't tear down.

The problem with steem(it) is it's focus on tags (communities) and not users, is that this encourages things like moderation and flagging, down voting etc.. to hide the things you don't want to see.... Well how about if we came into this experience from another perspective... From a user to user instead of a user into a group. With a focus on users, people will see friends posts first, friends of friends posts and otherwise will be manual clicks involved... But just seeing those few people who's lives you want to be connected to... Your core community as a person... Suddenly the need for down voting or flagging goes away, we dont block our friends when we disagree with them, we engage them. Some of you may be thinking, are we are willing to 'risk conflict' with a friend? I say do it, just remember it's one opinion on one aspect of that person you admire enough to follow, you will be friends after a disagreement, as you both trust and respect one another. It's ok to disagree, but we don't cut off our friends hands when we disagree with them with down votes or flagging. Most of the time, in which case, the bast course of action is remove them from your space, unfollowed. A community that exists from a perspective of friends first with a "broader audience" option with some of them manual clicks.... Like being at home talking to friends on the phone, then going to meet with them at a public space.... Disagree with friends in a public space? Great, here's some public opinion,.. but you can go back to your "safe place" easily with the user to user model.... I guess what I'm saying.... Steemit sucks as a Myspace, that's because it's a Reddit, they shouldnt make everyone use Myspace as Reddit.... Steem is NOT steemit, but they are doing a great job killing steem as the primary devs... Other then that, steem rocks!!!
