Think about that question for a moment,... Will you be at your job One year from now? How about Five? Planning on retiring from there in many years? Ok, Imagine you go into work tomorrow .. And they call you in and for any numbers of reasons you have denied thinking about until this moment.. Maybe it was a back quarter and cutbacks are happening, or "great news we are merging!!" And two weeks later your entire division is let go. Maybe you just got comfortable in your position and started taking shortcuts.. and the new hr didn't like those decisions. And like that, you are fired.

There went your job security, and now you have to plan for the immediate future. No more pipe dreams about a future you didn't even really begin to plan for, with all those new cars and entertainment systems, or gaming rigs, or whatever adult hobby you have spent countless hours and uncounted amounts of cold hard cash on. Wasted money you will now have to sell at a loss to make ends meat. Maybe time to set aside enough money you have access to in order to start planning a 3-6 months financial reserve, just in case that job security decides to part your life, this reserve should be easy access, say 3 days or less.
